You can play every game here without an account. This page lists everything we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to switch it off.
Your choices
Checking your current setting…
1. Anonymous play counts (every visit, unless you switch them off)
When you open a page or play, your browser sends us short events: a page was viewed, Play was clicked, a game started, the first move of a run, a game ended, you picked a colour, you opened the supporter-pass question, and your answer to it. Each event can carry the game, the page, the score, how long the run lasted, the run number within your visit, the website you came from (or the channel named in a ?ref= link), and your country as reported by our hosting provider.
These events contain no identifier and we store nothing on your device for them. Events from one visit could still be related to each other by their timing, but we don’t try to, and we can’t tell who you are from them.
Why: to see which games people enjoy and improve them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the games (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time with “Switch off all statistics” above.
2. Return-visit statistics (only if you choose “Share stats”)
Your browser stores a random ID and the day of your first visit. Your events then also carry that ID and the number of days since your first visit, which shows us whether players come back. The ID is random and contains nothing about you, but it is a pseudonymous identifier, not anonymous data.
We also record whether you chose “Share stats” or “No thanks”, without an identifier, to know how many people agree.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). Withdraw it with “Stop sharing my ID” above; the ID is deleted from your browser immediately. If you are under 16, please ask a parent before choosing “Share stats”.
3. Stored on your device so the games work
Your best score for each game, your sound setting, the colour you picked for your element and whether you have answered the supporter-pass question (sim.profile), and your statistics choices (sim.stats-consent, and sim.stats-off if you switched statistics off). They never leave your browser. “Clear my data on this device” deletes all of them.
How long we keep data
Statistics are kept for about three months and then deleted automatically by our storage provider. That storage can’t delete individual rows earlier, so events already sent with your ID stay until they expire; after you withdraw, no new events carry it.
Who processes it
The site and our statistics run on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and stores our statistics on our behalf. Cloudflare may process data in the United States; such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Advertising
No ads are shown yet. Before they are, visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a certified consent message before Google uses cookies for personalised ads, and this page will describe Google’s role in detail. Google explains how it uses data from partner sites.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete data about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and you can complain to your data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL). Because anonymous counts can’t be linked to you and we never learn who holds an ID, we usually can’t find your data; the buttons above are the most effective way to act.
Who is responsible, and how to reach us
Render the World is run by John Begood, who is responsible for the data described on this page (the data controller). For any question or request about your data, write to [email protected].
